Pool is a social community app designed for the Serviceplan House of Communication, catering to the needs of clients, colleagues, and the company. It merges the physical and digital worlds, serving as a digital twin of the building. Pool not only mirrors the architectural features but also celebrates diversity and social connection, transforming it into the House of Relationship.

Context & Motivation

House of everyone

Serviceplan not only wants to be an agency but also calls itself and its locations 'House of Communication'. We can also see ourselves as houses of coming together, of different cultures and sexual orientations. And we should build a digital home for this, a kind of twin of the real world. Originating from the early days of Corona, our aim was to connect people across different locations and time zones and also provide them with orientation for the new office in Munich. In addition, diversity and belonging was a key guideline and inspiration for the development.

And so we wanted to turn the House of Communication into a House of Everyone. We wanted to bring people together, connect them and let them express how they feel on a daily basis. We didn't want to create a classic business app, but a pool of and for like-minded people. The Pool App.

Challenges

01
How can we give the user feeling for the architecture and services of their new working home?
02
How can we create an intersection of satisfaction considering all colleagues, clients and the company?
03
How can we build a hybrid community platform reflecting diversity and foster organisational growth topics?

Strategy & process

From excel to exceptional.

For the opening of their new office in Munich, Serviceplan wanted a remote control system that included all digital services. We received probably the most reduced briefing ever and in the same breath the maximum possibilities. An Excel briefing with all services listed. That was the starting signal for us to think of something new. Something that people use. What they need. What unites them.

Impact

Big number, big impact.

Within 3 months, we created a native app, that serves an entire location with in-house services. Exploring the house via AR mode was a driver for exibitions to reveal hidden contents. And on the side, diversity through individual avatars was a valuable feature.
